Overview: Auto-GTM is an open-source Claude Code/Codex plugin from Tigerless Labs. It turns your project’s GitHub PRs and trending topics into ready-to-use content for X (formerly Twitter) and Reddit.
Instead of asking an AI to come up with social posts from scratch, Auto-GTM works from things that are already happening: what your team has shipped, what people are talking about, and where those conversations are taking place. It can draft posts in the voice of a creator or account you choose, discover relevant same-day discussions, and prepare replies to help developers participate in those conversations more easily.
Core Features and Architecture
Topic Scout (
topic-scout): Looks at recent PRs and industry trends to identify topics worth posting about, from product updates to relevant news. Each run also archives a topic report.X Content Generator (
x-content-generator): Turns approved topics into posts for X and can adapt the writing style to a creator or personal account you want to reference.X Auto Comment Draft (
x-auto-comment-draft): Finds relevant X posts from the same day and drafts a reply for each one, using top comments as style references.Reddit Subreddit Recommendations: Scores and recommends relevant subreddits for a topic, including safety levels and summaries of community rules.
Reddit Posts and Replies: Generates Reddit posts — title and body — as well as comment drafts while taking subreddit rules and more natural, less AI-like writing into account.
Under the hood, Auto-GTM is split into multiple skills, with different components handling topic discovery, content generation, and reply drafting. It integrates tools such as rdt-cli, which can reuse an existing browser login, along with optional tools for accessing X data without relying entirely on official social APIs.
Strengths and Limitations
Strengths: Auto-GTM combines your own project activity with current conversations, giving the model more useful context than a generic social media prompt. Custom voice settings help keep posts closer to an existing personal or brand style rather than generic AI copy. It can also connect a topic to relevant ongoing discussions, making it useful not only for publishing content but also for participating in conversations.
The project also includes safety boundaries around external content. Information pulled from social platforms is treated as untrusted input rather than instructions, reducing risks such as prompt injection or unintended actions.
Limitations: Auto-GTM currently focuses on X/Twitter and Reddit rather than supporting a broad range of social platforms. It also needs to run inside a Claude Code or Codex environment, with some initial setup for tools such as rdt-cli and optional X access.
Auto-GTM is not a traditional social media scheduler, either. Workflows are triggered by the user rather than automatically running on a fixed publishing schedule. For less technical users, the initial setup may therefore feel more involved than using a standard social media management platform.
Quick Start
Install the plugin in Claude Code:
/plugin marketplace add tigerless-labs/auto-gtm
/plugin install auto-gtm@tigerless-labsThen start a workflow:
/auto-gtm:start my Claude Code pluginYou can also ask it directly:
Find me topics for my repo — what I shipped this week plus what's hot todayFor Reddit access, additional setup such as rdt-cli may be required. X discovery may also require optional tooling and browser authentication depending on the workflow.
How It Differs From a Typical LLM Workflow
| Feature | Auto-GTM | Typical Alternative |
|---|---|---|
| Topic Sources | Pulls from GitHub PRs and current discussions | Topics are usually selected manually or provided to an LLM |
| Platforms | Focused workflows for X and Reddit | Often handled separately or manually across platforms |
| Voice Consistency | Can reference specific creators or accounts for style | Usually relies on generic prompting |
| Reply Drafting | Finds relevant conversations and prepares replies | Users typically find discussions and write replies themselves |
| Environment | Built into Claude Code/Codex with dedicated skills | Usually requires several disconnected tools or prompts |
The main difference is that Auto-GTM is not simply another way to ask an LLM to “write a tweet about this PR.” It connects several steps that developers normally handle separately: finding something worth talking about, understanding what the community is discussing, turning the idea into platform-specific content, and finding conversations where that content is relevant.
Who Is It For?
Auto-GTM is mainly useful for developers, product teams, and open-source maintainers who regularly ship updates but do not want to spend as much time turning every release into social content.
It is particularly relevant when you want to talk about a new feature across both X and Reddit, while keeping the messaging consistent and participating in existing discussions rather than simply broadcasting another promotional post.
For technical teams interested in using AI for social content without building their own social API workflow, Auto-GTM offers a more structured approach.
Final Thoughts
Auto-GTM’s more interesting idea is not simply AI-generated social media copy. It is the workflow around it:
- What you just shipped
- What people are talking about
- What is worth posting
- Where the conversation is happening
- What you could say next
That makes it closer to a lightweight GTM workflow for developers than a basic AI post generator.
